KARNI MATA TEMPLE

Karni Mata Temple offer prayers to the Mata herself, on this occasion, which falls on the 9th day of Navratra. The fair is held twice a year - April / May, October / November. The festival is celebrated with distinct religious flavour. It attracts large number of crowd and devotees from all over to attend this fair.The shrine of Karni Mata can be found in the town of Deshnoke 30 km south from Bikaner on the road to Jodhpur. Karni Mata is worshiped as an incarnation of Goddess Durga.
Deshkon’s karni mata temple – this temple is around 30kms away from the city and is on Jodhpur road. This temple is dedicated to an incarnation of goddess durga called karni mata. The best feature of this temple is its silver gates with intricate carvings, dedicated to the temple by maharaja Ganga Singh. The most striking thing about this temple is the liberty that the rats enjoy here. They are considered to be sacrosanct and are fed by priests as well as the devotees.
